A new era!

Well, hello!

I haven't been here in a long while! Sorry about that! I thought it would be kind of fun to come in and post today because today is the first day of a new era in Japan! The emperor abdicated last night (it's been in progress for a long time), so today begins the era of the new emperor. The name of the new era is Reiwa, which means beautiful harmony. It's kind of exciting!

Spring is in full swing in Nagoya. The sakura have finished blooming, and now the wisteria is in season. Actually, the last 2 days have been cold and rainy. But here are some pictures from before the rain.
This is the wisteria festival that I went to with a few friends. It was a gray day, but at least it didn't rain!

There were lots of people and lots of dogs.

People really like to get out and celebrate flowers and nature in Japan. It's pretty fun.

Anyway, I will try to get here more! We shall see if that actually happens or not. Haha!

That wisteria is spectacular! I think it is so wonderful that people there celebrate nature. Hopefully they also celebrate the Creator of that nature. Thanks so much for sharing your photos with us.
