Hello from next year

Guess what, American friends? We are in different years. 

I think that is bizarre!

But I haven't slept in 28 hours, so my judgment is slightly impaired. But I still think it's a strange thought. Two different years. 

Anyway, 2016 is off to a wonderful start in Japan. Here are two pictures of the first sunrise of the year, which is a pretty big thing!

Your tales of New Year's Eve in Japan are fascinating. I loved the part of the cheering growing louder as the sunrise made its way down the hill. I wonder what New Year's Eve in Nagoya will be like???
