Cold Sunday

The weather has been so cold lately! All I want to do is burn my heavy, black, winter coat. It is not cute for May!

However, if I do a ceremonial coat burning, I am pretty sure that another cold day will arrive.

July 15th, everyone is invited to the ceremonial burning. No open fires are allowed around here, so alternate plans are in process. Perhaps a ceremonial microwaving.

Anyway, I'm going to try to do as many posts as possible over the next 31 days or so to give you a brief glance into daily life around here.

Today has been a pretty chill Sunday so far. Almost caught up on a teaching class on the internet. Chatted with the family. Went to church.

After church, we had tea and chatted for a long time. After that, I took myself out to lunch at Meguriai, a cute cafe.

There was an older gent sitting at the counter when I came in. One of the owners pulled out the third counter seat for me, and I sat down. Then, a woman about my age who I've met several times (we work in the same building and have a mutual friend) came in and sat in the second seat. We all chatted with each other and the owners for quite a while. It was fun! I love Meguriai, because you never know who you are going to run into there.

Now, I'm on my way to the gym for some water walking (maybe something else - I haven't decided yet).
Tulips
My favorite forsythia bush - it's just so spread out.

Some sakura are still left.

Why not?

And in the very first picture, if you look closely, you can see that there is something sewn onto my sock.

That's been my day so far!

Again, my students exclaimed over the gorgeous flower photos...I've taught them well! :) The girls really liked your socks.
