Final contract ceremony day

At 9:00, everyone stood up and moved to the perimeter of the office. I walked to the middle and waited. One of the high bosses came out and stood at the front of the room. He read off my new job certificate and then handed it to me as we bowed.

I try to bow "like a rice stalk in the wind," but I'm never quite sure how it works out.

Anyway, I received the paper and then moved to the side and turned to face my coworkers. I gave a little speech about how the past four years had been fun and thank you, how the Soua students were great, and how I will do my best this year.

In a way, it was both bittersweet and exciting. The year is already off to a good start, and it's only going to get better.

Everyone clapped, and we all sat down and shed our suit jackets.
