The other day, our neighbor Mary came over for a visit. While she was here, we started talking about food. She highly recommended the grits at Primos. Primos is kind of a classy cafe that serves Southern cooking. If you are a college student, you might even spot "celebrities" there. My friend Amy and I once spotted our college president and provost.
Well, I'm a bit ambivalent about grits most of the time, but when Amy and I decided to go to Primos for breakfast, I knew they had to be tried. So I ordered a big ol' breakfast that included the grits. Amy and I sat down, and when the food arrived, I lifted a forkful of the grits to my mouth.
Somewhere, a choir began to sing.
Those things were so creamy and savory, it was all I could do to keep from just wolfing down the whole bowl straight off. If you ever make your way to Mississippi and go to Primos, be sure to get ahold of some grits. You (probably) won't regret it!
That really was a lovely morning - delicious breakfast and good quality friend time. What more could a girl ask for?
Then, I went back with my dad and brother one morning before they went to work. That was also great fun! I adore having breakfast out with people I love!
