Apple Bobbing


I was on a blog recently that promoted a Feel Good Friday project. There are several writing prompts, and you choose whichever one you want to do. So, today I'm going to write about something that happened to me this week that really made me smile.

Introducing Apple Bobbing to students

Now, unfortunately I can't post pictures of students online, so please enjoy this free online photo from the far distant past (only joking, dear readers - clearly I meant the very recent past).
Anyway, during class today, the students had a chance to try apple bobbing. I had forgotten just how hard apple bobbing was until I saw the students trying fruitlessly (haha) to retrieve the apples. It was hilarious, though. Everyone was in stitches, and the players were so pleased when they got the apples. It was just so great to see teenagers laughing hysterically over something that was just plain fun. Their teacher and I even got in on the action. I was happy that I was not wearing mascara. Plus, the teacher and I got great workouts changing the apple bobbing water!

So, that was something that really made me smile (well, and crack up like a hyena) this week!

What a novel and intriguing activity! and what a great way to introduce them to Americana. Good going...or should I say bobbing??
