Why not?

I recently found about about this fun (or fun-sounding) project coming up in November. Basically, the goal is to write a novel in November. You do this by writing 50,000 words. I'm going to try it out and see how it goes. I'm hoping it will help keep me from going into hibernation. When it gets cold, I just tend to spend my free time buried under a pile of blankets. This works fine for Mississippi's short cold spells, but I don't see it working out well here in Wakkanai! I have no idea what I'm going to write about! If you'd care to join me, you can click here.

It will be epic.

I know what you can write about...YOU! or a fictional version of you...calm and settled financial aid administrator lunges from her predictable world into a world filled with futons, fish, and ferries.

Me??? My 10,000 or more words will be in the form of data, data, and more data with some lesson plans thrown in. Oh yes...and 7 letter bingo words, too!

Maybe typing your novel will keep the blood flowing to your fingers...are you gonna buy some fingerless gloves? We DO need a visual representation of you at your laptop all bundled up against the cold furiously typing your 10,000 words!

What an exciting project!!! I tried it one year, and Amanda and I were just talking about it a couple hours ago!!! I'm assuming you've gone to their site---lots of community there, and support. Gee, what to write about . . . how about this incredibly brave young woman who travels across the oceans to a foreign land and meets this very friendly Russian and walks with foxes and and and . . .you get the picture!!!

Do it, Lizzie--DO IT!!!!
