A thing of beauty is a joy forever

...I think that in this case, a picture is worth 1000 words.

But safety aside, I can feel the warming glow and the glowing warmth, all the way over her in South Dakota and I am so happy for you. Being cold in your home is decidedly unpleasant (plus, it really sucks, big time!!!)

I'm sure you don't remember a Christmas when you were 2 or 3 and we were all squeezed into your house 'cause we'd gotten frozen out of ours (pipes burst!!)--KY was in a record cold snap and we were all at your tiny house, with aunt marge, and the house had no heat and we were all too poor to run the littlel space heaters for very long so we opened up your mom and dad's hideabed and huddled under an electric blanket . . so I truly know whereof I speak when I say it is NO FUN to be cold!!!

That is one of my strong memories, too. Mostly I remember the brownout with the Christmas tree, Marge reading to Liz constantly, Liz receiving a jumping horse(from Marge???), and frozen cloth diapers. We had to wash clothes in the claw-footed tub with a toilet plunger supplying the agitation, and then hang them outside to freeze dry! I remember feeling crowded, and this was before Jon, Amanda, or Laura!
