In the morning (aauugghh!), I will say another farewell to Mississippi and fly out to Japan. I will land at the Narita airport near Tokyo, as I usually do. From there, everything will change. Instead of turning right and heading north to Wakkanai, I will turn left.
Turning left just doesn’t seem real! Leaving Mississippi and heading to Japan? I’ve done that plenty of times. Taking everything apart in security? I’ve got that down pat. Waiting for an interminable amount of time to actually get on the plane? I’m used to that.
But when I get there, everything will change! I won’t be checking in for my flight north and returning to my spacious and ancient apartment. I’ll be starting over in a new city. New people, new weather, new scenery, very new job.
It’s exciting! About a year and a half ago, I found myself missing change. It’s here, and it’s scary, but it’s also fun and beautiful.
